Office Update and National Smile Month

Happy June to all our wonderful patients! Children’s Dental Clinic of Green Bay reopened on May 26. We are ready to see you! Call to schedule an appointment for your child today.

Reopening in the midst of the coronavirus we do have new implementations for the health and safety of both our team and our patients and their families. If you or your child(ren) are running a temperature or not feeling well, we ask that you reschedule your appointment. Upon arrival, we ask patients call the office so we can advise them when to enter the building. To keep safe distancing, we are asking only one parent accompany your child into the office. We require all patients and parents to wear a mask and hand sanitize when they enter, and everyone will have their temperature taken as well. We thank you for cooperating!

The next time you enter our office you will notice it looks slightly different as we have taken all magazines and books out of the waiting rooms and operatories. We have removed many of the chairs in the waiting room to allow for social distancing. Everyone in our office will be wearing a mask and those of us providing dental care will be wearing a N95 mask and face shield. Please be aware that we may wipe your child's mouth or have them swish with an antibacterial rinse.

So far our new health implementations are going well! The check-in process was taking a little longer in the beginning but as we have gotten used to the routine, things are flowing better. Everyone has been very patient and understanding.

Did you know June is National Smile Month? That makes it a great time to review your family's dental care routine! Our team recommends brushing twice a day, usually after breakfast and before bedtime. Flossing should be done once a day and does not have to be done at the same time as brushing. Sometimes it helps to break the routine up. If your child is having trouble sticking to a dental health routine we like to suggest brushing and flossing apps. For the younger kids, a sticker or reward charts may be a fun idea!

A healthy diet can also help maintain healthy smiles. During the warm summer months, drinking lots of water is always a great idea and it can also help wash away remaining food particles in your mouth. In-season fruits and veggies with dip are a great kid-friendly snack idea. It's best to avoid sport drinks and sodas as they are high in sugar.

We hope each and every one of you continues to stay safe and healthy! Remember to wash your hands as much as possible and continue to wear your mask when out in public or near any large gatherings. We can all enjoy the lovely summer months if we all stay safe and do our part!
