Radiographs or x-rays are a vital and necessary part of your child’s dental diagnostic process. They can detect much more than just cavities. They allow us to see images of the teeth, bone levels, anatomy and the TMJ. They can verify erupting teeth, detect extra or missing teeth, diagnose bone disease, evaluate the results of an injury or confirm a dental infection.

Digital x-rays are available at the Children’s Dental Clinic and use less radiation than traditional x-rays.  This can be a comfort for parents worried about radiation exposure for their young children. Digital x-rays have the added benefit of being read immediately and viewed with parents on the computer monitor right in the exam room.
